Microsoft Teams is a collaboration app that lets your team stay organized and have conversations all in one place. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to use it. Within the Microsoft Teams app, the “Teams” icon will show you all of the teams that you’re a part of. Teams are made up of channels broken down by topic. Within each channel you can hold meetings, have team conversations, and share files. • To see all the files ever shared by the team, click the “Files” icon at the left of the screen. • To start a conversation with one or several members of your team, press the “Chat” button and type of the name of the people you want to reach. You can also make video and audio calls directly from chats. • In “Meetings” you can view your weekly schedule and easily create new meetings. • “Activity” will show you everything that has happened on your teams and all of your unread messages, replies, mentions and more. • To globally search for specific items or people app or take quick actions and launch apps use the command box at the top of the screen. Teams are made up of channels that are built around a specific topic. • Channels are where you hold meetings, have conversations and work on files with your team members. • At the top of each channel, you’ll find tabs that are essential links to your favorite files, tabs and services. • To add a tab, click the “plus” icon to the right of the tabs. • If you have a lot of channels, you can keep track of the important ones by marking them as favorites by clicking the “star” icon next to the channel. If you want to talk privately with one person or several members of your team, you can utilize the “Chat” function in Microsoft Teams to do so. • To start a new Chat, click the “New Chat” icon at the top of the app. Then type the name of the person or people you want to reach. • If you have multiple chats and want to stay organized, you can name your Chat by clicking the down arrow at the right of the screen. • And if you click the three arrows at the right of any conversation you can select “Favorite” to keep that conversation at the top of your Chat history. • When you want to call someone directly from a chat, click “Video call” or “Audio call” at the top right corner. • In “Calls” you can check your call history and check voicemails.
